Roat was unlucky when the board came [4c][5h][6s][7d][Js] as Cooper turned a straight to escape elimination.

Marcus Maestra doubles up with kings vs. queens

Marcus Maestra's opponent moved all in preflop, having Maestra covered.  After some commotion and a long tank from Maestra, he finally called, revealing [Kc][Kd].  He was pleased to learn his opponent did not have aces when he tabled [Qh][Qd].  Maestra's kings held up through a board of [Jc][4s][5d][3c][4d], and his opponent was crippled.

On the next hand, Maestra had the same opponent all in, this time with the worst hand.  Maestra's pocket fours could not outrun his opponent's pocket eights.  Maestra lost only 14,000 back in that hand, and currently sits at
190,000.

Event #6, now with 45 minute levels!

Players are back from break and are now playing 2k/4k blinds.  Previously, the field was playing 30 minute levels, but now that they're down to 27 players, the levels will be 45 minutes each.  There is a strong female contingent left, as five of the remaining 27 are females.

Anh Le makes a royal flush

Anh Le held [Qs][Js] when she got her opponent all in with his [3s][3c] on a [4s][Ks][Ts][3d] board.  Le just needed the board to not pair to eliminate her opponent, and the [As] on the river gave Le a royal flush to eliminate her opponent and give her the chip lead in the tournament.  She now sits on 142,000, and there are 46 players left in the field.

Players are now on their second break of the day, and the tournament staff is coloring up the 100 chips. When they return, the field will be playing 500/1k blinds.

We have located our chip leader, Dave Wong, who sits on a stack of around 95,000. The second biggest stack in the tournament looks to be around 75,000, so Wong is well in front. With 68 players remaining, though, anything can happen.

Marcus Mack

Lucas Hinde has won his table.

Lucas Hinde has won his table, which happened to be the featured table and the guy that knocked out @veeRob.  Meanwhile, the rest of the field is now playing 1k/2k blinds.  The tournament staff has just moved an outer table's players onto the featured table, so check out the bonus coverage by clicking on "Watch LIVE Video" at the top of the page.

Mark Barneo has won his table

Michael Tang is our first winner.

Michael Tang is the first winner of his first table and will advance to the final table of Event #5.

Players are on their second break

The tournament staff have just colored up the 100 chips, so the remaining 37 players are playing with 500 chips only.  There are no winners, yet, but three tables are heads up.  The remaining tables have six or less players left, with the average being around 4 players per table.  We should start seeing final table qualifiers in the next few rounds.  When the field returns, they will be playing 500/1k blinds.

Players are now on break

Shootout players are now on their first break while the dealers and tournament staff colors up the 25 chips.  Players started with 5k, and each table looks to have lost one or two players so far.  When the field returns, they will be playing 100/200 blinds.

Event #5 cards in the air!

Matt Savage has announced shuffle up and deal, so this $550 Spread Limit Hold'em Shootout has begun.  This event is sold out a 100 players, which means that one winner from each of the ten tables in play will advance to our final table.  Watch the streaming feed from our featured table (with @veeRob in the 9 seat) by clicking "Watch LIVE Video" at the top of the screen.

5 remaining players discussing a chop

Action at this final table was fast and furious, and we lost the following four players.  The remaining five are now discussing a deal.

6th - Jed Espino (San Jose, CA) - $16,40
7th - Jared Sandbrand (San Jose, CA) - $1,370
8th - Tori Eakes (San Jose, CA) - $1,090

Rylen Sanehisa flops quads

Rylen Sanehisa was all in preflop holding AQQ4 against his opponents AA48.  Sanehisa needed help, and he got as much help as he could handle when the flop came QQJ, leaving his opponent drawing dead.  Sanehisa now sits on 39k.

Double knockout gets players into the money

On literally the first hand hand back from break, a hand developed on the outer table that resulted in two players getting knocked out.  The clock is now paused as the tournament staff redraws the field for the final table.  All remaining players are in the money and are guaranteed at least $820, with $9,560 going to first place.

Final 11 players return from break

The field has been trimmed to 11 players, and they have just returned from break.  As soon as one more player busts out, the field will combine to a final table.  However, only 9 spots pay, so one more will need to bust out before the players are in the money.  Players are now playing 2k/4k blinds, 4k/8k limits.

Event #4 redraw

Two players were simultaneously eliminated, creating a 26 person redraw rather than the normal 27.  We now have some new faces at our featured table. @mmigdol is still at the featured table, however he is now in the 2 seat.  Top 9 players pay, so we still have a long way to go.  The field has approximately 11 minutes left at 500/1k blinds, 1k/2k limits.

Event #3 is in the money!

The 19 remaining players have just agreed to pay 19th place $350.  They have taken $200 off 1st and $150 off 2nd to pay the bubble.

Live video running WITH TABLE AUDIO!

Pardon our excitement, but we were finally able to wire up the featured table with a microphone so you can hear what the players are talking about.  This makes the live feed much more interesting to watch, in our opinion.  Keep on eye on Will Fahmy in the 3 seat as he likes to talk a lot during play.  To view the feed, click on "Watch LIVE Video" on the top of the page.

There are 23 players remaining and they are now playing 500/1000 blinds.

Houston Williams: current chip leader

We did a quick scan of the room to see if we could find our chip leader.  It wasn't hard, considering he was the only player with 1,000 chips in front of him, and 50 of them at that.  We estimate his stack to be at around 65,000, which appears to be a comfortable margin over 2nd place.  We introduce you to Houston Williams:

Final 27 players now redrawing for seats

We have just lost a player to bring us to 27 players remaining.  Matt Savage and the tournament staff are now redrawing seats for the remaining players, which means you'll have some new faces to watch on the live video stream.  We still have to lose 9 more players before we are in the money.

There's one minute remaining in level 8, which is 300/600 blinds.  The next level is 400/800 blinds.
