Last 2 levels of the night

Cards are back in the air, and this is the last 2 levels of the night.  After these 2 one hour levels, the remaining players will bag up their chips and return on Wednesday to combine with the remaining players from tomorrow's Day 1B.  The chip leader at the end of the day will also earn an extra $10,000 in cash, so players with big stacks will be looking to increase their lead in the next 2 levels.

Players are now on break

The 79 remaining players are now on their last 15 minute break of the day while the tournament staff colors up and races off the 25 chips.  When they resume, the field will be playing 400/800 with 100 ante.

Blinds are up to 300/600 with a 75 ante

While the $10k Shooting Star Tournament plays on, the $2k Final Table is also playing and is down to 3 opponents: Fae Saeteune, Jake Solis, and Ngoc "Joey" Bui. All three are now guaranteed a seat in tomorrow's $10k Shooting Star Tournament, and will now play for the $155,060 first place prize. Here are the 4th through 9th place finishers:

Andy Frankenberger has been eliminated

Andy Frankenberger was all in preflop holding [9s][9d] against the [7s][5h] of Shannon Shorr. Shannon caught lightning in a bottle when the flop fell [Kd][5c][5s], and Andy failed to hit a nine on the turn or river. Shannon will earn $5,000 for knocking out a bounty player, and will collect the pot to boot.

$2k Final Table Is Underway

The $2k Final Table is now underway in the midst of the $10k Shooting Star event.

Already Jake Solis and Ngoc Bui went to battle in a preflop raising war. Ngoc ended up folding a pair of jacks preflop, and Jake showed him a pair of kings. Ngoc yelled in excitement for making a good laydown.

With the elimination of Matthew Crooks in 11th place and Nathan Szoke in 12th place, we have reached our unofficial final table of 10 players.  Play will continue until there are nine players remaining, and they will return tomorrow at 4pm to play down to a winner.

One time chip leader Stuart Tuvey was eliminated in 14th place

The tournament is now down to 12 players. Jonathan Silva took 13th place, Stuart Tuvey took 14th place, and Adrian Silvescu took 15th place, each for $7,160. The remaining 12 players are now guaranteed at least $9,545.

With a chip stack of approximately 300,000, Fae Saeteune is the last woman standing in today's field as the other remaining woman was eliminated in 16th place.

The tournament is now on a 10 minute break while the tournament staff colors up and races off the 500 chips.  With 18 players remaining, the average stack is 175,000.
