Jason Mercier eliminated by Jonathan Duhamel

Jason Mercier was all in preflop holding the [Ts][Tc] against the [Kd][Kc] of Jonathan Duhamel. The board ran out [Ac][5h][5c][Jd][Jh], and Duhamel eliminated Mercier to bring the field down to 26 players. Duhamel will collect $5,000 and pad his chip stack to roughly 960,000.

Tyler Patterson has joined our featured table

Tyler Patterson has just taken the 2 seat on our live featured table, and he promptly tweeted about it.  We caught him in the act!

With 36 spots finishing in the money, Kathy Liebert is eliminated on the money bubble by Men "The Master" Nguyen at the Bay 101 Shooting Star.

Fabrice Soulier has been eliminated

Fabrice Soulier has been eliminated when his [5d][5c] was outraced by his opponent's [Ad][6d].  The board came [Ks][Ac][3h][9h][2c], and Fabrice will exit this tournament in 35th place, earning $16,000 for his efforts.

Kathy Liebert is the "bubble girl" / Players now in the money

Kathy Liebert was all in for 92,000 with A-Q against the [Ac][Tc] of Men "The Master" Nguyen.  The flop fell a brutal [Ts][9c][8c], and the club on the turn sealed Kathy Liebert's fate.  She will be the "bubble girl," and the remaining 36 players are now in the money.

The field has redrawn for seats at six 6-handed tables and will continue playing 2,500/5,000 blinds with a 500 ante.

Josh Arieh crippled and tilted

Josh Arieh lost a huge pot on the money bubble with pocket queens against his opponent's pocket kings.  Visibly tilted, Josh decided to take a hand or two off to take a walk.  Josh now has around 100,000, which is about 20 big blinds.

Tournament is now hand for hand

With 37 players remaining, the tournament is now playing hand for hand.  Each table will play one hand and then hold up until one more player has gone broke.  Then the remaining 36 players will be in the money, and they will redraw for seats at six 6-handed tables.

David Pham has been eliminated

David Pham has been eliminated in 38th place, just short of the money, when his aces were cracked by Jonathan Duhamel's Q-J.  Duhamel turned two pair before the money got in, and Pham failed to improve on the river.

YouTube video: Taylor Von Kriegenbergh knocks out 2 players

Chau Giang, a $5,000 bounty, moves all-in and Owais Ahmed calls. Taylor von Kriegenbergh then moves all-in and Ahmed goes into the tank.

Nine players to the money

The tournament staff has just broken another table, which means that only 45 players remain.  The top 36 players will make the money, with a mincash worth $16,000.  But all players have their eyes on the first place prize of $960,900 (includes a $25,500 WPT Champtionship Seat).  When the tournament hits the money, the players will redraw for seats, and the remainder of the tournament will play 6-handed.  Play will continue tonight until there are 18 players, or until the level completes that is playing at midnight.

David Pham has taken the empty seat 2 on our featured table, along with Fabrice Soulier in seat 1, Chau Giang in seat 3, Owais Ahmed in seat 6, Jonathan Duhamel in seat 8, and Taylor Von Kriegenburgh in seat 9.

Tweets from the Dinner Break

Players are on dinner break

Players are now on their one hour dinner break.  When they return, they will be playing 2,000/4,000 blinds with a 500 ante.  There are 48 players remaining, which means the average stack is 227,500.  The top 36 players will make the money, and there will be a redraw into six 6-handed tables when that happens.

Our live stream at www.Bay101Live.com will be back online at approximately 8pm PST.

Chau Giang has joined our featured table

Chau Giang has just joined our live streaming table in the 3 seat, though he comes to the table short-stacked with under 20 big blinds.  You can watch by heading to www.Bay101Live.com, where you can also see Fabrice Soulier (seat 1), Jonathan Duhamel (seat 8), and Taylor Von Kriegenbergh (seat 9).

Chau Giang doubles up

Chau Giang has just doubled up in dramatic fashion.  He was all in preflop with the best hand, holding pocket nines against his opponent's pocket sixes.  The flop fell 2-5-4, giving Chau's opponent a gutshot straight draw to go along with his draw to a set.  The miracle fell an unfortunate six, leaving Chau drawing to a bigger set, or a chopped pot if a 3 hit the river.  The river gave Chau the nine he needed, and he will survive and double up.

Vanessa Selbst has been eliminated

Michael Mizrachi was all in preflop holding the [Ad][9d] against his opponent's [Ac][Kc].  The Grinder picked up a flush draw when the flop fell [Qd][Kd][Qh].  He picked a straight draw as well when the turn fell [Jc].  But the river blanked out for Mizrachi, and he was eliminated with 69 players left.

Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier eliminated by Jonathan Duhamel

Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier was all in preflop with AQ vs the pocket threes of Jonathan Duhamel.  Elky picked up a straight draw to go with his two overs on the turn, but the river bricked, eliminating Elky and giving Jonathan the bounty.

A video will be posted shortly.

Players are now on break

When the players return, they will be playing 800/1,600 blinds with a 200 ante.  The board reads 119 players remaining.

Mike Matusow has been eliminated

Mike Matusow was all in with pocket queens, but ran into the pocket aces of Jonathan Little.  Amazingly, another player was all in with pocket kings, and Gabe Walls folded the other two queens face up.  With little hope for surviving, Jonathan's aces held up to eliminate Mike Matusow.

Day 2 is Underway

Cards are in the air, and the 149 players from Day 1a and Day 1b are now playing 600/1,200 blinds with a 200 ante.  The plan is to play down to the final 18 players, or not start a new level after midnight.
